A Message From Our Founder/CEO
|
February is a special month for me for so many reasons, and at the core of the month is LOVE. My mother, Harriet Richardson, will be 80 this month on February 14th (Valentine’s Day), and she is the embodiment of unconditional love, pouring into her two daughters and my Dad (rest in peace) for as long as I can remember. \February also marks the 5th Anniversary of the SonRise Project, the sacred safe space that I founded for parents and loved ones struggling with mental health and/or addiction issues. What started as a weekly “sunrise” call at 7 am has blossomed into over 260 weekly calls with people around the globe; all coming together to share, to open up, to be vulnerable, to learn how to communicate better, and learn how to heal – ourselves and our families. SonRise is the embodiment of L.O.V.E. – Listening, Openness, Vulnerability, and Empathy. We are working to empower parents with this simple “L.O.V.E.” philosophy, and we will continue to show up for each other every week for our live call, with replays available via our podcast.
I am excited to celebrate this milestone with you, and invite you to join us whenever you may need some help, some support, and a boost of love. This is more important than ever as we are enduring some unpredictable and unprecedented challenges.
So much has changed in the last 5 years, and we’ve been through all of the ups and downs together. As we move into 2025, lets embrace the simplicity of the serenity prayer, to accept the things that will not change, the courage to change the things that can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
- Kelli Richardson Lawson

Before I Die, written by Shewonia Y. Roberts and The SonRise Project, is a must-have toolkit designed to capture your wishes and vital information to assist you and your loved ones through the sunset of life. While it may be more convenient to skip or avoid this topic altogether, it is imperative to take the time to ensure you have all of your information in one place, and that you have your wishes (and those of your loved ones) written down. This preparation can make all the difference in facing whatever challenges may come. When we put things off, we run the risk of leaving our matters and our wishes in the hands of others. It's not fair to them, and it's not fair to you.

100% of the proceeds from your purchase will be donated directly to The SonRise Project to support our mission of healing, empowerment, and mental wellness. Show your support by purchasing your workbook today and help us continue making a difference in the lives of others!

What to Expect When You Call 988
|
When someone calls 988, they first hear a greeting message. You are given choices of who to connect with in the greeting. When calling 988, press 2, or text “Ayuda” to connect to a trained Spanish-speaking crisis counselor.
For people who speak other languages, call 988 and you will be provided translation in more than 240 additional languages. Your call is then routed to one of the national networks or a local 988 Lifeline network crisis center based on your selections and then based on your phone’s area code.
988 Lifeline has specially trained counselors for Veterans, Spanish speakers and LGBTQI+ youth and young adults. A trained crisis counselor answers thephone, listens to you, works to understand how your problem is affecting you, provides support, and shares resources, if needed. If your local crisis center is unable to take your call, you are automatically routed to a national backup crisis center.
