Before I Die, written by Shewonia Y. Roberts and The SonRise Project, is a must-have toolkit designed to capture your wishes and vital information to assist you and your loved ones through the sunset of life. While it may be more convenient to skip or avoid this topic altogether, it is imperative to take the time to ensure you have all of your information in one place, and that you have your wishes (and those of your loved ones) written down. This preparation can make all the difference in facing whatever challenges may come. When we put things off, we run the risk of leaving our matters and our wishes in the hands of others. It's not fair to them, and it's not fair to you.

Unpack the pressure
and expectations you
face without judgment.

As Black women, we often navigate a world that limits our narratives and perceptions. From the pressures to be strong and resilient without acknowledging our vulnerabilities, to the stereotypes that undermine our intelligence and worth, these expectations can be exhausting. But we are more than just these labels. We are complex individuals with unique stories, dreams, and triumphs. It's time to celebrate our authenticity, share our experiences without filter, and redefine what it means to be a Black woman.
