Ep 50. The Restoration of the Black Family Nucleus - Starting with the Black Marriage: Dr. Rick Wallace

During February, many in society focus on love. Our survey results indicated that some SonRise parents seek ways to foster and enhance the love relationship with their spouse or partner. Sometimes, being a parent or caregiver to a mentally ill or addicted person can cause extra strain on the love relationship. And for single parents finding ways to love and empower themselves can often be daunting.

The Black family is the most powerful instrument of healing and empowerment when building a strong Black nation. It is the environment where the Values, Interests, and Principles (VIPs) are taught and inculcated in future generations' psyche. The foundation of the family is marriage. Without the restoration of marriage as the cornerstone of the community, we will never experience true liberation and empowerment as we view it.
