Welcome to the replay of our latest Sonrise Sunday Session. Our weekly Sonrise Support Group Call was an open session led by the distinguished Linda McGhee. As a clinical psychologist, attorney, and nationally recognized mental health expert and speaker, McGhee has been featured in the Washington Post, Forbes, New York Times, Huffington Post, and Grown and Flown. Recently, she appeared on BET’s America in Black, discussing the state of mental health in the Black community, and provided commentary for Washingtonian magazine on the intersection of racial trauma, COVID-19, and the mass protests. Dr. McGhee is an accomplished author, contributing a chapter to a book on Bipolar Disorder and the essentials of multicultural assessment. She has served on the clinical faculty at the Washington School of Psychiatry and as an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. McGhee is a former President of the Maryland Psychological Association and currently works as a consultant with corporations, trade groups, and government entities, training, moderating, and facilitating discussions on equity-related topics. Her strength lies in her ability to promote healthy discussions on sensitive issues, making her a compassionate leader who seeks to bridge differences and shed light.
