According to some research estimates, Alzheimer's Disease is almost twice as prevalent in the older Black community than in other minority groups in the United States. The reasons for the increased burden are unknown. We are underrepresented in clinical research studies, so the contributions of risk factors and disease pathologies to Alzheimer's Disease are still poorly understood.
