Ep 102. Parenting Through CRISES and TRAUMA: Dr. Rick Wallace

2022 brought great expectations and high hopes. Yet, already, the world continues to face turbulence. And it's not just the weather. We are fighting cold weather, COVID-19, Cold-Blooded executions of Black young men, and Critical Race Theory myths. Our kids see our struggles, and they have their own. The recent headlines surrounding the untimely deaths of several celebrities highlight the need to empower parents to deal with their children struggling with some form of mental illness.

This need is especially relevant when dealing with young Black males. A recently published study revealed that between 2013 and 2019, the rate of suicide of Black males ages 15-24 increased by 47 percent. That trend has continued over the last two years. Parents must be prepared and empowered to help their sons confront this crisis. Dr. Rick Wallace returns to engage in this important dialogue with us. It is easy to become overwhelmed by what we cannot do, but let’s discuss what we can do. Please come to this morning's SonRise session and join in on the conversation.
